Graduation went pretty well, but I was nervous even up until I went up to get my diploma case (they didn't actually give us the diploma right then and there, we had to pick them up later). I messed up about twice, which actually gave me relief, because I knew I had to mess up at least once or twice, so once I did, I didn't worry anymore. Besides, I don't think anyone really noticed, and if they did, probably won't remember. XD
Right after the ceremony, I got mobbed by my family. XD everyone's parents came onto the field to congratulate their kids, so I didn't see them in the crowd until my dad came up and hugged me. Then my aunts, my uncle, my cousin, and my brother (and my grandparents) all congratulated me, gave me flowers, put flowers around my neck, and took a lot of pictures. It felt so odd to be the center of attention of so many people.
After my family was done taking pictures, I went to go see if any of my friends were around, but I couldn't see anyone, so I thought they all went home and left. (It turns out later one of my friends WAS there, he was part of the school band that played at the ceremony. I thought he had left too, but later I found out that he had stayed to congratulate me, and I felt bad for leaving so soon.
At home, my family and I ate an ice cream cake, which tasted like a banana split and was so good there was hardly anything left of it the next day. If I hadn't been so full from eating pizza before the graduation, I don't think there would have been anything left at all. Then I thanked everyone for coming, and after everyone left, I went to sleep.
Strangely, my dream had nothing to do with graduation. Instead, it was about a big red cardinal that flew and crashed into the big livingroom window, landed on the bench on the porch, and was still alive, but somewhat hurt. I remember going out to check on her, and she started talking, (which, strangely I didn't find odd or amazing at all), and she told me that a hawk was after her, and asked us (me and my brother) to please help her. I remember protecting her from the hawk, but I can't remember why or how. That's pretty much all I remember. At least the cardinal lived, not like the poor little bird in real life.
The day between graduation and the graduation party was pretty uneventful, I think, or at least had not much worth remembering, other than getting the house ready for the party. I remember joking that even after graduation I still can't have a break yet.
Since the senior's last day of school was a Thursday, I thought we would have had time to rest before graduation. But Friday we had to go back to school (and for some reason I can't remember why at the moment, but it was mandatory), then Monday we had to either go to Senior breakfast (which I didn't) or the school library (which I did). We were in there a few hours, but it wasn't so bad because I had some friends to talk to, and paper to draw on. Then we got our caps and gowns, which probably took another hour, or at least felt like it, but I joked around with one of my friends during the wait. Then Tuesday and Wednesday had mandatory graduation practices, with the "real deal" graduation ceremony later that same Wednesday.
Anyhoo, the graduation party was great. I invited a bunch of my friends, but not all of them could go.
It was weird at first because my uncle was playing music for the party, and for some reason he was playing kiddie songs, I think from "Cri-Cri" or something, I think that's how you spell it. (I think Cri-Cri is a cartoon cricket, and all the songs are in Spanish for the most part. That's all I really know about him. XD) Then he even played "Happy Birthday." XD
I remember one of my friends wasn't really talking to anyone, just lost deep in thought. Then I started mimicking him, seeing how long it would take for him to notice. I actually got almost the whole table to do the same until he finally said something. A while later he was talking a bit, though. So everyone talked, ate, did random stuff, a few took pictures. We also danced (sort of) and some of my friends went on the trampoline, but I was too scared to get on because there were already too many people on it.
It's funny, because as my friends were leaving, some of them said "Happy Birthday" by accident. I almost didn't catch it, because it really did feel like my birthday, with the party and the music and presents, and cake
I also got two bracelets and two necklaces, some gift cards, clothes, a Terabyte storage thingy for my computer (from my uncle), a teddy bear (from a friend), A stand for my Guitar Hero microphone (from another friend), a Music Label Soundwave MP3 player (from my boyfriend), and some scrapbooks. I also got three homemade cards which I like a lot. It's funny, because most of the gifts I like most, I haven't gotten to use yet. Ah well. XD
Oh, and everytime one of my friends took a picture, his camera would go "Say cheese!" in a somewhat creepy little voice. Made me laugh so much.
So in all, we ate, we laughed, we joked, we danced, we sang karaoke, the cops were called, and hopefully everyone had a good time.
